Tribal of NWA stage a strong protest against the shifting of FATA Medical
College, on Bannu Miran Shah road, in Pir Kala of North Waziristan
Agency.
The participants of the protest were demanding the cancellation of
the government order of shifting college to Bajaur Agency. They
claimed that the tribal has allotted 500 canal lands free of cost for
fata medical college establishment in North Waziristan in 2009.
Elders of the Dawar and Wazir tribes and thousands of the tribal were
part of the protest, raising slogan against the inability of their MNA kamran khan
to protect the rights of the people of North Waziristan, and alleged
him for compromising the public rights for self interests.
Malik Naiz khan said “that there is violation of laws as the
government has endorsed the allotment of the land free of cast for
fata medical college in North Waziristan. He added that when they
approached fata secretariat, the high official in the fata
secretariat refer them to MNAs and on the other hand fata
parliamentarians blamed fata secretariat for the shifting of
collage”, he demanded from the Governor of KPk to investigate the
matter as there is a conspiracy going on against the establishment
of college in North Wasziristan
Another tribal elder Abdu Rehman said that if the government wants
book and pencils in the hands of tribal youth, then shifting of the
college is unjustified. He shared that we have the documentations,
bearing the signatures of former Governor KPk Awais Ghani and others
high official is a strong proof for the establishment of fata medical
college in North Waziristan, added there Is no reason to shift the
collage, they will show the documents to the world, and will fight for
their due right.
Tribal elder, malik khan mir shared in an angry mode that it is
extremely unfortunate that our MNA is failing in defending the rights
of the people of North Waziristan.
MNA Malik Kamran khan when asked about the tribal allegation, he said
that fata parliamentarians received a letter from fata seceteriate to
decide a site (location) for fata medical college. As per rules of the
parliament, the fata parliamentarians are bound to decide the matter
through vote, but in due to the disagreement, the matter was decided
through toss or lucky draw.
The people of NWA shared that government should stop the decition of FATA parliamentarians they did on draw bases, and decide the fate of college while keeping in view the need and rules. They also said government should investigate the 2009 survey and documents for the said college and decide the establishment of this college on legal bases.
