Susan Rice the US permanent envoy to United Nations presaged Syrian Authorities to halt and not to deepen the incumbent brutality towards the innocent and un-armed inhabitants prior to Arab League and UN intended ceasefire.

During the Security Council conference Susan Rice implored to take punitive measures if Syrian administration failed to maintain its vow to end military operation by 10th April, 2012. The Syrian administration reiterated that it will respect the prescribed cut-off-date, but Rice suspected the credibility of the statement.

The opposition protesters are holding an opinion that government is buying time to uproot the uprising before UN intervention by carrying fierce assault against the opposition strongholds.

A Sophisticated contingent from the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) intends to visit Syrian Capital Damascus, in order to talk about the deployment of monitors. The monitoring team is entrusted with an assignment of evaluation of the prevailing plight, crisis appraisal, and last but not the least provision of plausible mitigations.

Ms Rice remarked, “That what the world has witnessed since 1 April i.e. use of brute force by the Syrian Military is not encouraging at all”. In addition to that she said that, “US administration is quite apprehensive and dubious about Syrian Administration vows pertaining to halting the violence and giving peace a chance”.

She remarked, "In case if Syrian Authorities failed to shun the violence with a given time frame than the Security Council must retaliate on war footings against the violators of Syrian peace in particular and world peace in general”.

On the other hand, the Syrian Authorities from Damascus formally, once again reiterated its commitment to troops withdrawal form population areas and sending them into barracks, the indented withdrawal will be started on Sunday which will last till 10 April, the prescribed cut-off-date, the withdrawal of troops, will officially begin from promulgation of general ceasefire that would lead to withdrawal within 48 hours.

Kofi Annan the joint UN-Arab League envoy on Monday briefed, the Security Council 15 members that the draft formulated by western powers supported the ceasefire initiative as the panacea for the Syrian plight

Ms Rice accredited that the Security Council was at odds over whether to take action to force Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down or not. She said that,” Mr. Annan’s peace Plan comprises many facets and the option of ceasefire is just one amongst the many, it includes, liberating of detainees, the deliverance of humanitarian aid, freedom of Speech and expression, the right of affiliation, the freedom of religion and the right of peaceful protest.

Nassir Abdul Aziz al-Nasser, the president of the UN General Assembly, in the mean time said, that he had requested Mr. Annan the joint UN-Arab League envoy to take the world body into confidence about his Syrian ‘Peace Mission Plan’.
