Deadly shooting spree at Oikos University leaves 7 dead, 3 injured; killer, L. Goh, busted. Among the death victims were 6 women, 1 male student. 43-year-old Goh had been expelled from the tiny Christian college very recently. Other students made fun of Goh over his poor English language thus flush with anger; he sought revenge on school.
According to the details, the (now) former student Goh shot above noted victims during the Oakland College shooting in execution style on Monday. Introduced as a nursing student, Goh was sick of being teased by fellow students, about the poor English language skills he possessed. The California college student thus planned to take revenge and for this very purpose; he went to school Monday and started his twisted hunt. Police said that Goh looked for one particular administrator there. However, failing to find the woman, he went through the campus building and later shot his victims randomly.
During a news conference Police Chief Howard Jordan conveyed that Goh may have been planning the attack, for past several weeks. The Oakland Chief further added that the angry student took a female secretary hostage to force her into one particular classroom. Once inside, Goh reportedly ordered the victims to get in line and stay still.
According to Jordan, Goh yelled at the victims and before he began shooting, he said he would kill all of them. He then killed six students and the female secretary he took hostage, using a semi-automatic handgun. Jordan said the entire slaying victims were shot point-blank, one after another. Police reports suggested that at least three other people ended up wounded.
Brimming with resentment Goh, a South Korean national, was expelled from the said largely Korean school, explained Jordan, possibly for behavioural reasons. He was extremely upset over the disrespect and teasing at the hands of fellow students that always laughed at him. Feeling quite isolated compared to his fellow students, Goh decided to take his revenge, added Jordan and said he eventually implemented his plan on Monday.
First of the 911 calls was received by cops at 10:33 a.m. Monday, about a woman, bleeding on school grounds. Then numerous terrified callers flooded emergency lines, giving details of the on-campus rampage. Cops soon arrested Goh who was commandeering one of the victim's cars; he was seen driving about 3 miles from the shooting site. Police said he surrendered in a supermarket peacefully, in nearby Alameda.
Five of the victims were declared dead at the scene while another two who were taken to Oakland’s Highland Hospital, also died short while later.
