U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden strongly criticized the Republican candidate Mitt Romney for referring to the Cold War mentality and that mind set as being out of step with the national reality.
During an appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Biden criticized Romney’s statement last week that Russia “is without question our number one geopolitical foe.”
“He just seems to be uninformed or stuck in a Cold War mentality,” Biden said. “I think what the exchange did [is] it exposes how little Governor Romney knows about foreign policy.”
The Vice President said he did not remember a presidential candidate in the recent past that seems not to understand, for what it says, what ordinary people think middle class and what your concerns. Biden insisted that anything that gives Romney addresses the most urgent problems of American society .
"It's back to old policies," he said. He questioned the dominance of Romney judgment on foreign policy issues, recalling that the Republican ranked Russia as the number one political enemy of the United States.
"The response was incredibly revealing," he said. In the race to win the Republican nomination for the November elections, the former governor of Massachusetts has an advantage over their contricantes Rick Santorum, former senator from Pennsylvania, Newt Gingrich, former House of Representatives , and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas.
The next primaries will be on Tuesday in Wisconsin, Maryland and the District of Columbia. The Republicans continue to bid for their choice as presidential nominee.
