Karen Faisandier, a 30-year old research student of the Massey University of Wellington is not able to attract men to come to her for a research on OCSB – Out-of-Control Sexual Behavior. She wants to give sex addicts a new lease of life.

Karen has a doctorate in clinical psychology and has received a grant of $10,000 from a private trust to conduct her research.

She wanted a group of 20 men over the age of 18 to take part in the research.

However, she did not get the number – she felt that the charges for the psychiatric evaluation by psychologists of the Sex Therapists New Zealand were high at $185 per hour, so she had cut it to half. Still – she is not getting the men to come forward.

In her opinion, this is a subject which many would not want to talk about – but, it is a sort of disease and one should not hesitate to confide in his doctor.
