23-year old Kirsty Hartley, a mother of two from Gatehouse Close, Bristol, suffered from an inferiority complex because of her flat chest. She wanted to go in for cosmetic surgery and get a boob job but it was a costly affair and she did not have that sort of money.
Therefore, when she was approached by a drug dealer to rent out her bedroom to grow cannabis, she was thrilled. They would pay her 15,000 pounds sterling as rent for the drug factory and the boob job would cost 8,000 pounds sterling.
The drug dealers had modified the inside of the bedroom by blocking natural light – instead they installed high power lights, fans and air filters so that the plants would grow fast.
When the policed swopped down on her, there were 32 cannabis plants in her room. Each of the plants was capable of producing 1.6-Kg of cannabis – the market price of cannabis was 10-pounds sterling per gram.
