Phl military ready for Holy Week

<p>MANILA, Philippines – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said Friday it is ready for securing the nation for the Holy Week next week.

<p>“The AFP will stand on guard the commemoration and observance of holy week well provide support to Philippine National Police (PNP) and other law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and stability particularly this coming holy week,” says AFP spokesman Col. Arnulfo Burgos.

<p>He said the concentration of intelligence gathering effort will be on populated areas aside form sharing information.

<p>Burgos told reporters during a press briefing that they will deploy troops in areas with many people such as churches, ports, bus terminals and vacation spots.

<p>“We’ll be closely working with the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA). The AFP-National Capital Region Command (NCRCOM) is working closely with MMDA.,” Burgos said.
