Fashion design students and fashionistas, the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology Graduates Show 2012 was featured earlier today March 29, 2012 at China Fashion Week, held at Beijing Hotel in Beijing, China.
Students went for the unusual and untried in this fashion show, concocting both practical and wearable garments as well as more ornamental and somewhat cumbersome to wear conversational pieces.
Some of the more unusual designs include a trio of models who presented black and cream knitted designs accessorized with skull masks and ribcage necklace, a well rendered knit dress with swirls in shades of mauve and plum as well as models donning knit coral sculptures in various colors. It’s even more intriguing when the coral sculptures are being worn by male models!
The blue and orange amoeba art dresses in layers of colorful chiffon, teamed with matching tights and rusty red suede pumps were also noteworthy, accessorized with what else but peace sign earrings.
If you want avant-garde, the blue and green beaded dresses in shades of natural turquoise were sure bets if you want to stand out in the crowd.
It’s really a pity that the individual design students are not getting credit for these amazing creations but the hard work of these budding designers will certainly inspire any fashion design students right here in Atlanta! Enjoy these flights of fantasy in my slide show…
