So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the Lord be my God:

-- Gen. 28:21 (KJV)

Jacob says within his heart that if God brings him back home in peace despite of all of the chaos that he caused, then Jacob would make the Lord his God. A benefit of choosing the Lord to be your God is peace that will permeate through your entire life.

Numerical Analysis: The numerical pattern for this verse is 1, 3, 4, 2, 8. (1) Follow God so that He will place you in peace. (3) To stay in the Spirit, you have to make Him your God. (4) To stay in God's Word, realize that you have to make Him your God. (2) To be saved, realize that you have to make the Lord your God. (8) A new beginning will occur in your life when you choose to make the Lord your God.
