The two teachers named Serfino Sanchez and Rene Sumagang who were kidnapped in Rogongon,Iligan City last week has been freed on Sunday night.
The teachers are from Limosodan Bayug Falls Elementary School was freed about 7:20 o' clock in the evening since their captivity on March 19. The two were handed over by Mangagao Elias known as Ayatullah leader of the a kidnap for ransom groups. The leader was once a Moro rebel who involved in illegal logging but when the ban was strictly implemented after typhoon Sendong his livelihood was crippled.
The abductors demanded a P4 million ransom money for the release but later reduced to P2 million. Army's 103rd Brigade chief Col. Daniel Lucero said that the presence of 300 soldiers and police forces in the area might be the reason for prompt release of the teachers.
