At approximately 10:30pm the Watertown Fire Department was called to 624 Winslow street to respond to a house fire at that residence. The second floor of the home was engulfed in flames when they arrived. Fire fighters were forced to break out the second floor windows in order to saturate the residence to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.

The street was blocked off while pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic were diverted to nearby streets. According to police on the scene there were no injuries to report. The identity of any occupants was not released at the time of this report.

The cause of the blaze was not determined as of the early morning hours. The police on the scene did not suspect any purposeful intent for the cause of the fire, and investigators did not stay on the scene, which would be the case if any foul play was suspected. TWS will follow up if there are any new developments on this incident.
