
News sources KPLCTV.com and Steve Szkonek Associated Press. Richmond Virginia. The uniform and sword of Confederate General Robert E. Lee had in his possession when his armed forces surrended to Union General Ulyssess S. Grant is going to be on display at the Appomattox museum as part of a news museum telling the story of the events that happened when the Civil War concluded.
The sword and uniform will be on display at the museum on March 31, 2012.
The Museum of the Confederacy is using the Appomattox museum as a regional system as part of their plan to make the artifacts of the Confederacy available to the public.
Only a small portion of Confederate artifacts are on display at the Richmond museum which is located close to the former Confederate White House.
