Former Roman Catholic priest arrested for rape

News sources KPLCTV.com, Lake Charles American Press and Associated Press. Lake Charles Louisiana. Mark Broussard 56, a former Roman Catholic priest in two Lake Charles area churches has been arrested in his home in Duson Louisiana Thursday by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office (CPSO) deputies on two counts of aggravated rape and 52 counts of sexual battery.

CPSO spokeswoman Kim Myers told the Lake Charles American Press Broussard left the priesthood in the mid 1990s, was charged with sexual misconduct of a eight year old boy from 1986-1989. Sex crimes have a time limit of 30 years after the victim turns 18 years of age.

Broussard is currently in the Calcasieu Correctional Center in Lake Charles on a $1 million bond.
