Hugh Dancy has signed on as Will Graham in NBC's Hannibal, which was recently granted a 13-episode commitment by the network.

Written and executive produced by Bryan Fuller, the series will stay true to Thomas Harris' Red Dragon -- including the relationship between Graham, a profiler, and Dr. Hannibal Lecter, the infamous serial killer widely recognized by Sir Anthony Hopkins, who won an Oscar for his portrayal.

Dancy is the third actor to play FBI agent Graham, who was first played by William Petersen in 1986's Manhunter from director Michael Mann, who was still well-known for Miami Vice at the time. Petersen was then succeeded by Edward Norton for 2002's Red Dragon.

Both films were adaptations of Harris' novel.

No official word yet on who will be bringing villain protagonist Hannibal to life on the small screen.

DoubleG is based in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, United States of America, and is an Anchor on Allvoices.
