Until thy brother's anger turn away from thee, and he forget that which thou hast done to him: then I will send, and fetch thee from thence: why should I be deprived also of you both in one day?
-- Gen. 27:45 (KJV)
The key to defeating anger is to forget. The meaning of forget in this verse does not mean to totally wipe it out of the memory. The true meaning of forget in this verse means to be oblivious of what happened. It means to still remember it from a long-term perspective.
The memory of hurt should remain totally detached from the emotions. Never allow a bad memory of something that happened to you to continue to touch your emotions. Keep your emotions upon the present instead of the past.
