Diamonds are said to be a ‘girl’s best friend.’ So, if you are one of those girls who are crazy about diamonds, here is an incredible piece of news.
Switzerland-based Shawish Jewelry has succeeded in crafting what they have billed as the ‘World's first diamond ring.’
Unimpressed? Are you asking, what is so special about it?
Well, then check this out. The entire ring is chiseled from one single giant diamond. Giant diamond yes, coz size does matter in case of diamonds, doesn’t it.
It is completely unlike other regular diamond rings that are made up of a precious-metal band (say gold or platinum) with a diamond studded in the center.
This sparkling 150-carat pure unadulterated bling, beats hollow (pun unintended) other celebrity diamond competitors.
Including Beyoncé’s 18-carat engagement ring from boyfriend Jay-Z or the late Hollywood diva Elizabeth Taylor’s 30-carat rock from beau Richard Burton.
This sensational ring is the handiwork of Shawish's President and CEO Mohamed Shawesh. He has innovatively used lasers (yes, indeed lasers!) combining it with conventional diamond chiseling and polishing techniques.
The rough diamond is from Brazil, and as stated above is a 150-carats stone. Its color is: E while the clarity is : VS1, which as any diamond connoisseur knows is really good for a diamond of this size.
It took Mohamed Shawesh one full year to carve this dazzler. Don’t even dream of copying this design as it has already been patented. It is expected to fetch a whopping $70 million.
Any Takers?
