Kim Kardashian was the victim of a flour bomb on the red carpet Thursday. The always-stylish reality TV actress was in the midst of launching her new fragrance when she was attacked by a woman who showered her with white powder.
Kim Kardashian was joined by her mom, Kris Jenner, at the event to launch “True Reflection” - her fourth fragrance - at The London West Hollywood. A source spilled, "Kim was giving an interview when a young Asian ran from the press line onto the carpet and said something to her and dumped the flour over her head."
The insider added that Kim Kardashian was "shocked" as she was attacked when walking off the red carpet with staff members and security. The 31-year-old reality diva was escorted to a private area, where she got the powder off her jacket and hair. After she got cleaned up, the reality star emerged all smiles from the private room.
"I'm fine," Kim Kardashian told E! News. "You have to laugh it off! I brushed off and came right back out."
The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department officials also, reportedly, arrived at the scene later to determine whether the substance was harmful in any way, but it was found to be basic cooking flour.
As for the perfume launch, the party was held in benefit of Dress for Success, a non-profit organization that provides interview suits, confidence boosts, and career development to low-income women.
Aside from the red carpet failure, Kim Kardashian had a splendid time at the event. After the party, she tweeted, "Just met all these lovely woman at Dress for Success. You all are such inspiring women! Thank you for today! #TrueReflection"
Kim Kardashian later told E! Online the incident "probably is the craziest, unexpected, weird thing that ever happened to me.” The reality starlet made light of the happening, adding with a laugh, "Like I said to my makeup artist, I wanted more powder and that's a whole lot of translucent powder right there."
Her sisters, who were not present at the event, took to Twitter to write about the incident. Khloe Kardashian tweeted, "I wish I was with my sister tonight. I bet you that woman wouldn't have dared tried a thing..."
wrote, "Classy to flour bomb my sister at her charity event helping women. I wonder if they would have dared thrown the flour at my hormonal and pregnant self!"
Meanwhile, the woman who threw the flour bomb was arrested by the police, but was released after Kim Kardashian refused to press charges against her.
