Diana Gould is a centenarian, a great grandmother of six and a proud one at that because she has got the privilege of carrying the 2012 London Olympic torch for 300-yards.
The selection came to her as a surprise. She lives in a flat in Kenton, London, and her grand-daughter Alexandra Antscherl had proposed her name without her knowledge.
Diana Gould is from Poland and had migrated with her family to London when she was just an infant. She finally settled in Hendon in 1960.
She played badminton and table-tennis regularly till she was 86 – and, even now teaches exercises to elderly persons and explains how to remain mobile and active.
She attributes her good health to keeping her mind and body active.
