Cops hunting for the killer, a restaurant worker.
Early Saturday, Antonio Lacertosa was stabbed to death; on the day of his engagement. The 27-year-old Staten Island resident and a restaurant worker had a spat during Antonio’s engagement party. Police said that the heated argument resulted in one of the men’s death.
The sad incident occurred at Charleston’s Loft, at Arianas Grand whereby Antonio and his girlfriend Bridgette were joined by family and friends for their engagement. The 27-year-old popped the question to Bridgette, his high school sweetheart on Friday night and the couple planned to wed some eight months later. However, when the entire group of guests and newly engaged couple headed for an after-party at Annadale’s Espana Restaurant and Lounge; they had an alleged squabble with restaurant crew there.
According to Antonio’s relatives, it was around 2 a.m. when some of the workers were engaged into a brawl with Antonio’s crew. The squabble took place outside the restaurant’s back door and all of a sudden one of the workers plunged a large kitchen knife; into Antonio’s chest. The worker allegedly grabbed Antonio before killing him, a source informed police by adding that the suspect then fled the scene.
Coming from Pleasant Plains, Lacertosa was left there bleeding to death outside; suggested a police report. The friends immediately called an ambulance to take the severely injured victim to University Hospital South, where he died after some time. The search efforts were on going to nab the killer, till the last reports arrived.
