Venezuela: Deploying 15,000 troops to the border

US troops are o be deployed along the Mexican border

Venezuelan Defense Minister Henry Rangel Silva said on 15.3, the military will deploy about 15,000 troops to areas along the border of this country to deal with armed gangs and drug trafficking.

According to the Associated Press, General Silva told theVenezuelan News Agency that the number of troops will be sent to the region bordering Colombia, Brazil and Guyana in a campaign to strengthen national security.

Mr. Silva did not reveal when to start the deployment, but he saidsome 2,000 soldiers were deployed to the state of Tachira, thecountry's southwest.
