Earless bunny

Seventeen-day-old bunny born without ears named Til, who was a rising star in Germany, had his 15 minutes of fame brought to an abrupt end when he was accidentally stepped on by a television cameraman.

Til was hiding under a pile of hay when a television cameraman stepped backwards and trod on the bunny,

A small zoo in Saxony was planning to present the 17-day-old bunny to the world at a press conference, according to the Associated Press.

Zoo director Uwe Dempewolf told Spiegel magazine Til did not suffer: "It was a direct hit."

The cameraman was distraught after the tragic mishap, zoo director Uwe Dempewolf said.

Til gained national attention because he had no ears, due to a rare genetic defect., while its five twins were all born without abnormality.

The bunny was named after tough German actor Til Schweiger, best known for playing psychopathic Nazi hunter Hugo Stiglitz in the Quentin Tarantino film Inglourious Basterds.
