Spying is a profession that appears to be an attractive one from a distance - thanks to movies of James Bond.
But, the spies in France are apparently an unhappy lot and, in order to express their disappointment with the way things are going, they plan to lodge a labour protest in Paris.
The protest is against the ‘human resource management’ of the DCRI spy agency.
The DCRI had been set up by President Nicolas Sarkozy by merging the DST domestic security service with the RG political police.
These spies are senior police officers and are a part of the security agencies. They are usually associated with activities like domestic intelligence, counter-espionage and anti terror investigations.
The SNOP Union has 4000 officers as members but it is not known how many of them would finally participate.
