Leaked documents of Roskosmos reveal the secret plans of Moscow to send their astronauts to the Moon by the year 2030.

It is a fact that the Russians were very much ahead in the Space race as compared to the Americans. Yuri Gagarin was the first human being to orbit the Earth in 1961.

The Americans followed it up by sending two of their astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin Jr to the Moon on 20th of July1969.

The Russians subsequently abandoned their Moon missions.

However, they now probably feel that the time has come to explore afresh the possibilities of sanding Russian missions to land on the lunar soil.

The tentative target has been set as 2030.

In the recent past, several Russian missions have ended in disasters – most important was the Mars probe ‘Fobos Grunt’ which fell to Earth due to malfunctioning of its onboard systems.

Russia has extended co-operation to other countries on space related activities like being a part of the ISS and Vladimir Putin is apparently keen to give a boost to Russia’s space programs.
