Kim Kardashian is not ready to forgive Jon Hamm for calling her an “idiot” in a recent interview with Elle UK. The reality TV diva took to Twitter to express her discontent at the insulting comments that the “Mad Men” star hurled her way.
Reportedly, Jon Hamm, who is best-known for his role as Don Draper in hit TV series “Mad Men”, slams Kim Kardashian and celebrity culture in an April interview with Elle UK.
“We’re at a place where the idea of being ‘elite’ is somehow considered negative,” Hamm told the next month’s issue of Elle UK. “Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a fucking idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly.”
“And incuriousness has become cool. It's celebrated. It doesn't make sense to me,” the “Bridesmaids” star added.
Never one to miss a publicity-seeking opportunity, Kim Kardashian addressed Hamm’s statement in a well-scripted message on Monday. The tweet that went out to her 14 million followers on the social networking site reads, “I just heard about the comment Jon Hamm made about me in an interview. I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life.”
“We’re all working hard and we all have to respect one another. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, ‘stupid,’ is in my opinion careless,” the ubiquitous actress added.
Jon Hamm isn't the first celebrity to pick a bone with Kim Kardashian or use her as an example of "idiot culture." Previously, “James Bond” star Daniel Craig used some harsh words for the reality TV star in an interview with GQ magazine. He labeled the Kardashian clan as “fucking idiots” and criticized those who “sell” themselves and then demand privacy.
“Look at the Kardashians, they're worth millions. I don't think they were that badly off to begin with but now look at them. You see that and you think ‘what, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f***ing idiot on television and then you'll pay me millions,’” the actor told the magazine.
31-year-old Kim Kardashian is now a household name – thanks to her starring in three reality shows. Apart from her blooming TV career, the reality star has her fashion line, various endorsements and is part of a multi-million dollar empire.
