Jonathan Daniel (Jon Hamm), advertising executive Don Draper from AMC's "Mad Men", is in the limelight for telling off a few renowned celebrities in a recent interview. Hamm is known for his candid nature, but this time around he surprised many, including his fans, as he spoke about Kim Kardashian andin an interview to Elle magazine.
Jon Hamm's interview will be featured in the next month’s issue of Elle. He says in the interview, "Whether it's Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f**king idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly."
Clearly, Hamm was not in his right mind when he gave the interview ... because he also says he doesn't "even consider himself handsome."
Hearing about these comments, Kim Kardashian couldn’t stay quiet. She came up with a classic retort for Jon Hamm’s offensive statement. She wrote on Twitter, “I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life. We’re all working hard and we all have to respect one another. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, ‘stupid,’ is in my opinion careless.”
Paris Hilton, on the other hand, has yet to speak up about the Hamm's remarks.
Jon Hamm is most popularly known for his television series, "Mad Men", which debuted in July 2007 with almost 1.4 million viewers. The show received a lot of critical acclaim and popularity and quickly developed a loyal audience with both the show and Hamm receiving strong, positive reviews. Robert Bianco of USA Today was complimentary of Hamm, noting that his interpretation of Draper was a "star-making performance.”
The fifth season of “Mad Men” will premiere on March 25 after an 18-month hiatus. Fans must be looking forward to his comeback.
