Queen Elizabeth latest fan of stylish Kate Middleton – Asks her for tips on clothes

The unbelievable has happened. Guess who is the latest fan of fashionista Duchess of Cambridge? Well, wonder of wonders, it is none other than Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, herself.

The Queen is said to have become an admirer of Kate’s impeccable taste for chic, understated classic styles and even asked her 'style tips'. Imagine a woman from completely different generation, seeking input on clothes from another much younger but stylish woman. Amazing indeed.

The aging British monarch is said to have asked her grand daughter-in-law Duchess Catherine for guidance on what to wear. Both Queen Elizabeth and Kate will soon be meeting the Duchess of Cornwell - Camilla to co-ordinate attires for the upcoming engagements pertaining to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

As most royal watchers are aware, year 2012 marks the 60th year of Queen Elizabeth’s ascension to the British throne. As such there are a spate of activities and engagements planned to commemorate the event. In fact the celebrations have already begun and are at an ongoing stage, with numerous visits by Royal family members to different countries.

Despite the massive 55-year age gap between the 85-year-old British monarch and her elder grandson’s wife Kate Middleton, 30; Queen Elizabeth has gone ahead and asked the latter for tips and ideas on the kind of dresses to be chosen for the upcoming military event at Windsor Castle, which is also part of the Diamond Jubilee celebration.

According to an unnamed source, the Queen has developed a fondness for Kate Middleton’s style and is planning her own wardrobe for the jubilee celebrations accordingly. Said the source “It’s believed the Queen will join Camilla and in particular Kate to discuss what fabrics they are suited in for certain official engagements and, in particular, is interested in Kate’s opinion on what she herself should wear.”

However, in the midst of all this one person who cannot be ignored is Angela Kelly, who happens to be the Queen’s PA, confidante as also the in-house dress designer. Naturally any discussion pertaining to outfits for the royals will most certainly include Kelly’s opinion as well.

The same source also informed that there are talks that Duchess Catherine will be given an opportunity to contribute her own ideas for the Queen’s outfit. Specifically, the dress Queen Elizabeth will be wearing for the Parade and Muster event on May, 19th at Windsor, where she will be joining around 2,500 troops and army-men to watch a multihued parade, added the source.

It may be recalled that just this month (March 2012) during an official visit to London’s Fortnum & Mason store, the three royals Queen Elizabeth, Duchess Camilla and Duchess Kate were all seen in blue outfits which appeared to have been so well coordinated. Therefore it would augur well for future too, if the three discussed and planned their outfits for a synergy, for future occasions as well.

Meanwhile, the Queen’s favorite grand daughter-in-law Kate Middleton is said to be mighty "thrilled" that the Queen values her opinion. As always Buckingham Palace kept a tight lip and refused to comment on the matter, yesterday.
