is now a much relieved teenager free once again after a three months stay behind bars for being accused of a rape he never committed.
19-year old Adam Scott of Truro in Cornwall was arrested in Devon on 2nd of October and sent on remand for 3-months. That was three weeks after the incident of rape and in spite of his insistence that he had never been to Manchester.
The rape was of a woman in a park in Blackley, Manchester.
However, the forensic experts of the firm of LGC Forensics of Teddington, south London had found a definite match between his DNA and that of the rape victim. Hence, he was sent to jail awaiting trials.
The Crown Prosecution Services (CPS) has exonerated Adam Scott of all charges because it had been based on incorrect evidence – incorrect DNA matching. It seems there was mix-up of the results.
