Amazing northern lights stun onlookers

A magnetic storm that is being felt on Earth due to a huge solar flare on the sun sent a huge wave of radiation into earth's atmosphere creating a brilliant show of the aurora borealis near Yellowknife, N.W.T. on Thursday.

The storm, which started with a solar flare last Tuesday evening,t was never seen as a threat to people.

The northern lights or aurora borealis fill the western sky Friday, March 9, above the Russian Orthodox Saint Nicholas Memorial Chapel in Kenai, Alaska.
