US dollar price value falls down in Somali markets

Mogadishu:-Exchange markets in the Somali capital Mogadishu and great cities in Somalia are reported that US dollar value was falling down.

All markets in Mogadishu, Baidoa, Beledweyne and Galka’o cities are reported to the changes came to the US dollar value moving dawn day nowadays, but not affecting the cost of food price in the south and central Somalia.

The $100 US dollar is exchanged with 2 million Somali now while it was 2 million and four hundred thousand Somali Sh before.

Normal people in Somali are complaining about this fall of US dollar as it did not affect the food price

An old woman in the Somali’ biggest market of Bakara told reporters that she did not know how to manage her daily life if things go ahead as she saw then because the food is too expensive yet, she added.

A lot of money from aid agencies, Amisom and monthly salaries got into those cities widely of US dollars and that is thought to be the causes of the fall dawn as many of people believe.

Most of the problems of US dollar decreased value face the poor and families who got bills from abroad and they are the real victims today.

This comes as deputy minister of finance of Somali transitional federal government announced that the government carries plans to produce new money replacing the previous one.
