Beck Hunt, a fashion student, has been successful in getting the royal approval to design a pair of shoes for.
While Queen Elizabeth and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton launched a nationwide tour, to mark Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, a shoe competition was set up in at De Montfront University yesterday in Leicester.
Her Majesty and Duchess of Cambridge visited the University, where six footwear design degree students unveiled their creation to the two and finally Becka Hunt, 20, was the one who won the competition, after Kate Middleton picked out Hunt’s blue suede shoe as her favorite.
Designed with intricate cream lace on blue suede high heels and an open front, the shoe making process will start now and will be presented to Kate Middleton at a future date.
Delighted after finding out her name as the winner, Becka Hunt said, “I am absolutely overwhelmed. The color of the shoe was inspired by Kate’s engagement ring”.
“She is the biggest fashion icon. Everyone looks at what she is wearing constantly and she always looks amazing”.
Meanwhile, Kate Middleton traveled in style with the Queen sporting a peplum look.
Inspiring her dressing from 1940’s by sticking to a classic ensemble, Kate wore an elegant teal peplum suit by L. L Bennet, a Jude jacket worn over Davina dress in the same color. Not ignoring the latest trends, Kate completed her outfit with black Episode heels, nude tights (obvi) and belt around her waist, giving her jacket a peplum look.
Not only did the royals, joined by Prince Philips visited De Montford University but also various other parts of the city. As the royal party arrived in Leicester by train, huge crowd greeted them surrounding the train station, waiting to catch glimpse of the royals.
Many held flashes of their cameras ready, to capture quick snaps of the Queen, Duke and Duchess, while others waved flags.
Besides a helicopter hovering overhead, heavy police presence was witnessed at the train station before their arrival.
The Royals were amused by the dance performance that they watched on their second stop at De Montford square.
Fans cheered as they saw Kate. At one moment, security personnel had to hold to the barriers to stop overwhelmed fans approaching Kate and spilling forward.
Apparently, Kate found time to have a quick chat with her fans to whom she confessed that she is missing Prince William terribly as he is away.
