Designer Elie Saab showed his Elie Saab Ready-To-Wear Fall/Winter 2012 collection in a fashion show for Paris Fashion Week at the Espace Ephemere Tuileries on March 7, 2012 in Paris, France.
This is a very elegant and wearable collection without any gimmicks or theatrics from Elie Saab Fall 2012, though the floor-length black cape offers plenty of Old World drama.
Saab offers classic styling with a touch of inspiration from retro fashions, such as tweed detailing on a black and grey skirt suit that lends a 1940’s air to the outfit. The open-toe leather mules with an ankle strap are well paired with the ensemble and add just the right amount of trendy chic!
Another very sexy pair of pumps are both T-bar, with an ankle strap but offer other unusual strap detailing, worn with the black skirt suit with the flared skirt. These shoes are also offered in other colors, including a medium brown with a touch of olive.
While his color palette for daytime wear focuses on black and neutrals in shades of taupe and grey, to which Saab adds bottle green, his evening and cocktail wear range features many metallics from pale gold to bronze as well as gunmetal grey and shimmery dark green.
Saab’s evening gown collection worthy of red carpet galas (and worn by royalty as well as startlets among his clientele, is equally sophisticated as his suits and separate, particularly a light taupe grey floor-length dress with the wrap detailing at the waist and a thigh high slit, Angelina Jolie style at the Oscars, on the left side for plenty of flash!
There are several other gowns worthy of mention but one very unusual gown is a lacy looking black and grey gown with organic pattern and a very interesting bodice or Saab’s shimmery pale gold gown. Enjoy this impressive Fall 2012 collection from Elie Saab in my slide show!
