is in the family way. It has been revealed that the former “Saved by the Bell” star is expecting her first baby with husband, artist-designer Greg Lauren.
Elizabeth Berkley announced the happy news in an interview with People magazine. “In life there are moments you cherish forever and this is one of them,” Berkley told the tabloid.
“Greg and I are so excited to be expecting our first child this summer. We couldn’t be more grateful and overjoyed,” she added.
The 39-year-old actress tied the knot with Greg Lauren, 42, in 2003 at the Esperanza Hotel in Cabo San Lucas after meeting in a dance class nearly three years before the nuptials. Reportedly, Berkley legally changed her last name to her husband’s, but still uses the name "Berkley" professionally.
Her husband, Greg Lauren told People at the time that babies were always part of the plan. "Maybe by then, my art will be all about babies," he joked. "I'll paint a lot of diapers!"
Elizabeth Berkley took to Twitter to share the happy news of her pregnancy with her fans, writing that she and her husband were both “thrilled to share this special news.”
The pregnancy announcement is not much of a surprise, as Elizabeth Berkley has been spotted in Los Angeles sporting a noticeable baby bump in the past few weeks. And judging from the pictures, it is safe to say that she is out of her first trimester. Before making the revelation on Twitter Monday night, Berkley had showed off her bulging baby bump in L.A earlier in the day also.
