
Tuesday, March 6, 2012, - Southern Mindanao regional police spokesperson Senior Inspector Gretchin Cinco said two robbers, riding a motorbike, forcibly entered Yidong Agri Supply at Purok Avocado in Cagangohan village in Panabo City, Davao, around 1 p.m., held the occupants of the store at gunpoint and carted away millions of pesos, but in their get away, six people were killed in the process, Sun Star reported.
The robbers, one of them identified as Dexter Marcellones, shot and killed the store’s security guard and everyone blocking their path, including the store’s drivers, Edgar Mocos and Allen Jones Polo, and wounding its warehouseman Darios Pilitos.
The two bandits then commandeered the store owner’s blue Pajero and tried to flee but were stopped by police who arrived on time before they made their escape. They opened fire at the responding police officers killing instantly Senior Police Inspector Rene Angelo Alampa.
Cinco said police fired back killing both suspects, but did not know that the robbers have taken a 15-year-old girl, Irene Zamora, as hostage inside the car. She was also killed in the shootout.
The store was owned by a Filipino-Chinese businessman, Leo Apalie.
