It’s not easy for yours truly to get stumped at categorizing collections, but this particular offering byhas me completely stumped as one cannot be completely sure as to what exactly the designer was trying to achieve with this Fall 2012 collection as showcased at Paris Fashion Week on March 5, 2012.
There doesn’t seem to be much focus on any particular design or variation on a theme, with designs going in all sorts of directions. You’ve got extremely artistic composite fabric pieces in unlikely color combinations and materials and then you have the androgynous pants with chunky masculine jumpers that do nothing for the female shape at that price.
But then you have some truly well designed retro inspired pieces in tweed as well as a simply gorgeous cobalt blue dress with black and white lace insets that none other than model Karlie Kloss is entrusted with showcasing on the runway!
The dresses worn by super models Natalia Vodianova and Anja Rubik are quite artistically rendered and incorporate many different textures, teaming cobalt blue with shades of grey.
Of her retro inspired pieces, her brown tweed coatdress with an hourglass shape, which has been accessorized with patent leather ankle boots for an ultra modern update is of particular note.
Stella also offers a brown tweed dress in the same fabric and styling as the coatdress, including the unusual black and white neckline detail, this time paired with equally unusual black patent leather pumps.
Attending the Stella McCartney RTW Fall/Winter 2012 show were slide show…and Nancy Shevell, and Francois-Henri Pinault as well as Vogue’s Andre Leon Talley and Anna Wintour. Enjoy the
