Ronie Montrose Passes Away Saturday; 64-year-old Rock Guitarist suffered with Prostate Cancer

Breaking: Ronnie Montrose, the famous rock guitarist is no more; suffering with prostate cancer for more than two years the American music artists dies at the age 64 years. News reports suggest that he lost his battle against the cruel disease on March 3, 2012; Ronnie had just revealed that he was successfully fighting with cancer while during his 2009 tour.

According to the details, it was his booking agent who broke the news of his death on Sunday; Jim Douglas informed that the rock guitarist’s death occurred at his Millbrae-based home on Saturday. Jim further revealed that Montrose not only suffered ever-declining health but was battling cancer and ‘personal demons’ simultaneously.

It was in the year 1973 when Montrose formed his own band following which, he used to perform with countless other rockers in the likes of Herbie Hancock, Edgar Winter Group, Boz Scaggs, Sammy Hagar as well as Van Morrison etc. His agent described Montrose as ‘legendary figure’ and added that the true music artist influenced countless bands. Montrose was among the ‘founding farmers,’ further conveyed Jim, of rock-n-roll.

Survived with wife, Leighsa, Ronnie Montrose also had one daughter while as many as five grandchildren.
