March 3, 2012: Unless one lives in a cave, it is no secret that tensions around and in Iran is critical and getting worse. In a recent interview with Atlantic Magazine President Obama said the United States is "not taking any option off the table" in order to stop Iran's nuclear energy program. "It includes a military component. And I think people understand that."
Israel officially has said it hasn't decided whether to strike Iran, though it has signaled readiness to do so. Senior Israeli officials say Israel would have to act by summer in order to be effective. Prime Ministeris meeting with President Obama on Monday (3/5) to discuss the matter.
Then there are the European Union sanctions against Iran. These sanctions have been described as the toughest EU sanctions imposed against any other country by European officials. These sanctions put restrictions on foreign trade, financial services, energy sectors and technologies and include a ban on the provision of insurance and reinsurance by EU insurers to the State of Iran and Iranian owned companies.
The media is firing uproar about the refusal by Iran to allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to visit a military site at Parchin despite an agreement to cooperate with inspectors.
Meanwhile, amid all this "saber rattling" by powerful world leaders, in Iran, 13 year old Tara Salehi sings her rendition of Adele's "Someone Like You". Kind of adds a whole new face to the picture. Young Tara's video has gone viral on YouTube. Will she see her 15th birthday?
