A squabble outside a Phoenix nightclub quickly broke-out into a shooting spree; leaving 13 persons injured including two seriously, informed the police here on Saturday, 03 March, 2012.
Check: Police at the scene
The incident took place a little before midnight on Friday in the parking area of ‘The Clubhouse’ nightclub on East Broadway Road (located approx. 7 miles east of downtown Phoenix.) Concert watchers were outside the club to watch Rapper Nipsey Hussle’s perform. (Video)
The shoot-out has been described by Tempe Sgt. Steve Carbajal as a consequence of "some sort of altercation" at the club, where a rap music concert was going on. Fortunately, there have been no fatalities, so far.
Two of the victims are in serious condition while the other eleven are being treated in hospital for wounds which appear to be less severe, said Sgt. Carbajal. Also, since some of those injured went off to different hospitals to get themselves treated, the police are not sure if there are more victims.
Meanwhile, the law enforcement authorities are on the look out for two young men as possible suspects, who vamoosed off the scene. They presently don’t have more details on the altercation, the motive and the kind of weapons used in the shooting.
From whatever information the police has, the two suspects have been described as being black men wearing dark attires who escaped on foot from the Phoenix night-club. One of the patrons describing the scenario said she had her back against the wall, while some panic-stricken people were losing their mobiles in the midst of the shooting melee.
The eye-witness describing the terrifying incident via Twitter under the moniker @RenTen10, informed that she was struck by the number of discarded high-heeled shoes left behind on the pavement and sidewalk after the shooting. Rapper Nipsey Hussle, who didn't go on stage, expressed his annoyance with the shooting at his show "(Arizona) on his Twitter account by stating: ... y'all gotta be cool man."
Meanwhile, four hours after the shoot out, the parking area was completely barren with the only activity being seen was that of the police. All access to the club's parking lot had been cordoned off with tape, with squad cars posted all over the place.

Update: As per latest reports, three men are understood to have opened fire at one another. In this connection, one man has been taken into custody and he was being held on 13 counts of aggravated assault and one count of assisting a criminal street gang. The police are now looking for two other suspects in the shootout in the midst of a crowd of 250 outside the Arizona nightclub.
The incident has, as stated above, left more than a dozen persons wounded and set off a frenzied scene with the injured screaming for help and hundreds trying to flee. The number of persons now confirmed wounded in the late Friday shooting at Phoenix has risen to 14 after one more person went to a hospital on Saturday.
The injured victim had a gunshot wound to the foot, informed police spokesman Lt. Mike Horn. Also, according to Horn, the three suspects are understood to be affiliated with Phoenix-area gangs and have now urged the public to help in identifying the two who are at large. Anyone who can assist in identifying the two men are being urged to call Tempe police or the local "silent witness" telephone line at 480-WITNESS.
