The bodies of Marie Colvin, who is American-born and wrote for The Sunday Times, and French photographer Remi Ochlik were handed over in Damascus by the Syrian authorities.

Both journalists were killed during an intense bombardment of the Baba Amro district of Homs, a stronghold of rebels fighting President Bashar al-Assad.

Both were thought to be buried after a video of their burial had been posted online a day ago.
