Concert to end polio in Chad

"Interrupting the transmission of polio in Chad in late 2012 in view of the global strategic plan for the eradication of polio," was the goal aimed by the 7th meeting of the Technical Advisory Group on the polio Eradication, held from 26 to 29 February 2012 in N'Djamena.


This meeting was attended by several public health professionals and also technical and financial partners of the health system.


The polio epidemic was very violent and sustained in 2010 and 2011. Through the Ministry of Public Health, regional governors, civil society and the technical and financial partners, Chad strengthens significantly its response to the polio eradication.


In January 2011, a case of wild polio virus was discovered in the district Bessao, Logone Oriental region. The epidemic has been significantly impacted in 2011 by successive vaccination campaigns, improved of their quality, better monitoring and better use of human and material resources.

" Chad eradicating polio " its really to hear but the country is viciously depended into food insecurity which may create more public health problem.Even though , a step ahead polio will be eradicated. Good Informative report Friend.!!
