Dr Aafia Siddiqui is an MIT educated neuro-scientist and mother of three. She has been reported missing since 2003 with her family claiming she was abducted by Pakistani security agencies and handed over to the US. There were reports that she was held and was receiving abuses and human rights violation at Bagram prison camp in Afghanistan (without trial) which was only confirmed last month by the USA military and FBI. While at Bagram she was accused of firing at USA military personnel -- a charge that many observors found incredulous in the context of tightly guarded military prison. In any case, it was Dr Aafia who ended up receiving a bullet wound which the Human Rights Commission reported was not treated well and was oozing blood soaking up Aafia's clothes.

There have been public demonstrations all over the world condemning Aafia's incarceration by the US Military.
