A sudden tornado struck a tourist hub and mobile parking home in southwest Missouri and left one person dead and dozens injured. The unfortunate death is reported from a trailer park in Buffalo. Many people are trapped in their houses.
Governor Sam Brownback of Kansas has declared a state of emergency in view of the tornado and storm which has cut off the power supply to Buffalo, situated 35-miles north of Springfield.
The effects of the storm were felt in downtown Branson where road signs were uprooted and buildings suffered damages.
Branson is a major tourist attraction in the Midwest – it attracts tourists to its famous theaters and amusement parks. A number of entertainers have made this city their home.
To add to the misery, hails the size of golf balls accompanied by winds of 70 mph have been reported from Marion County.
