Best dressed at the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards

Film buffs and fashionistas, just a day short of the Oscars themselves, Los Angeles held its 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards at Santa Monica Pier on February 25, 2012 in Santa Monica, California.

Arriving on the purple carpet, and at various lounges at the Indie Film Spirit Awards were actors Carlos Leal, wearing a jaunty hat, a luscious chocolate brown velvet blazer and apparently Piaget somewhere on his person!

Actress Fiona Hefti looked spectacular in her gorgeous black strapless dress, also wearing a Piaget necklace apparently, as did singer Melody Gardot, to ornament her black ensemble with the bra-top and long flowy skirt, accessorized with round glasses, walking cane in hand…

Director John Waters, wearing the most unusual cobalt blue and black jacket, walked around the Official Presenter Gift Lounge and posed with several products on offer including a huge blue comb – the perfect accessory for his outfit and practical too!

Laura Dern arrived in a pretty floral maxi dress, dressing it down with a blue denim jacket, while Michelle Chen dressed it up with a Piaget necklace, at least for the photoshoot!

Rosario Dawson wore a luscious orchid colored halter neck dress, posing beside Paz Vega, who wore a micro mini ensemble in basic black but the pearl necklace dressed it up and the lipstick pink clutch bag stole the show.

Other best dressed notables included Adepero Oduye, Tracee Ellis Ross, Judith Godreche (loved the white dress!), Anna Kendrick, Katheryn Winnick, Garcelle Beauvais at Piaget Lounge (loved the tangerine orange ensemble!), Demian Bichir, Stefanie Sherk and Julia Ormond.
