Terrorists hit bus station in Peshawar

A bus station in Peshawar was hit by an explosive laden car on Thursday morning, consequently thirteen people were died and scores of others were injured. The targeted bus station is situated on Kohat Peshawar road and normally bustles with life, travelers towards Kohat, Laki Marwat and Waziristan normally come to this bus station to fetch vans standing at different locations in vast area of the bus station divided into stands for vans of different regions. According to eyewitness the explosive laden car was rammed into a bus stand of Meer Ali area of North Waziristan, another eyewitness says the said car was rammed into Teeri area bus stand adjacent to Meer Ali area bus stand, with a blast in explosive laden car at least 15 to 25 vehicles filled with passengers were set ablaze, eyewitnesses are of the view that number of dead is much greater then official figure of 13.

Around 4:30pm the bus station was bustling with life again, and people were bravely catching vans there to reach their destinations, a driver says he had a narrow escape but his another fellow driver resident of Kohat was not so lucky, after having cup of tea with him driver Sabaz Ali had walked towards Meer Ali bus stand and the moment he reached near it the explosive laden car was exploded, consequently the driver was died when a standing van had hit him moved with the thrust of explosion.

With appointment of Barrister Syed Masood Kausar as Governor KPK normalcy in Peshawar was restored up to great extent, prior to his appointment as Governor Peshawar was giving a look of haunted city, usually hit twice a day by suicide bombers, in fact Governor plays an important role in maintaining peace in KPK because he enjoys the soul authority over tribal areas, highly educated and experienced Governor of KPK Barrister Syed Masud Kausar had taken apt measures to control extremist elements in tribal areas. His success can be measured through vivid decrease in number of bomb explosions within Peshawar and tribal areas during his tenure.

After a long period of normalcy Peshawar was again hit by terrorists today, the bus station hit by terrorists is situated on Kohat Peshar road which passes through tribal area of Dara Adam Khel and near Jangali Square is linked with road linking Peshawar with Orakzai tribal agency. Intelligence sources have said that packing of explosives in cars is done by terrorists present in tribal areas of Pakistan, the probable cause behind the explosion can be existing ongoing conflict in North Waziristan between government forces and Taliban militants.
