Built in 1928, the Fort Steuben Bridge over the Ohio River served as the main communication link between Ohio and West Virginia. That landmark is now history. Watch the stunning demolition video.
A team of experts demolished the bridge within minutes – they used a total of 490 special charges filled with 70 Kg of explosives and strategically placed at 136 different locations of the bridge.
It must have taken years to build and hundreds of men must have worked day and night to complete it in time. But, it was gone in a few seconds!!!
In view of the opening of a wider bridge, the Fort Steuben Bridge was no longer required.
