At 13 Rachel Crow was the youngest contestant on the premiere season of “The X Factor”. Crow was eliminated just a couple weeks shy of the finals in a dramatic scene that was set up when then judge Nicole Scherzinger refused to cast her vote to save Rachel and let the decision go to the fan vote.
While Crow was still on the show there were rumours that Disney was interested in the youngster, but it was Nickelodeon who has signed the diminutive ball of energy to an overall talent contract; but is also developing a show just for Crow.
While Nickelodeon works on the pilot for Crow the now 14 year old will be featured in a recurring role as Starr on the comedy series “Fred: The Show”. The show airs on Fridays.
And as if that were not enough good news, Columbia Records has also signed Crow to a record deal.

News has been flying surrounding “The X Factor” ever since judges Nicole Scherziner and Paula Abdul and show host Steve Jones were all let go. Those rumours were amped up a bit in the wake of Whitney Houston’s death; saying that Houston was in the running as a new judge.
While he is being mum on the details, executive producer and head judge Simon Cowell has said that the replacements at the judging table will be women and now that Steve Jones is gone, Cowell is looking to replace him with a hosting duo. Cowell will only say that, “people are interested in joining the show,” and that there will be interviews in the coming weeks.
