Bad Trend: Wrong-Way Driving

A disturbing trend is happening upon the highways in Chicago: wrong-way driving. Earlier this morning around 4:30 AM CST, a woman in a silver Chrysler Sebring hopped onto the Kennedy Expressway, but was going the wrong way. She ended up clipping two vehicles before hitting a third vehicle, a Black Nissan, head on. Fortunately, nobody was killed in this accident.

The lady that was driving the wrong way was charged with driving the wrong way, driving under the influence, and failure to have a license. She is currently in serious condition at Illinois Masonic hospital.

This bad trend of wrong-way driving has escalated in the Chicago area since the beginning of 2012. In the first two months of this year, there have been seven wrong-way accidents. In the other accidents, deaths occurred to those involved.

There are a couple of possibilities as to why wrong-way incidents are increasing. The first reason is the same as the cause of this accident: drunk driving. Drunk drivers look to go on the highway to avoid local police hawking vehicles for DUI offenders. The second reason is that wrong-way driving has become a method of suicide. Please do not make suicide an option because life is so much better than death. "A living dog is better than a dead lion."

You are right there, young man. Besides losing your own existence, you also cause the end of the lives of others that you hit on the road. You can go alone but don't bring other lives along with you to hell. Right? rated
