My money is on Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius to be Barack Obama's pick for Vice President.
Senator Obama has a news conference scheduled in Springfield, Illinois on Saturday at the same location where he announced his run for the White House.
The Obama/Sebelius ticket will be announced at that event.
That's the conclusion I've drawn after talking with political junkies from sea to shining sea over the past two weeks; including some with connections to the campaign.
Sebelius, I think, is a good pick. She was elected Governor of the State of Kansas in 2003 and was returned to office in 2006.
These two paragraphs from the Governor's biography speak volumes...
At the heart of Governor Sebelius' administration is a commitment to growing the Kansas economy and creating jobs; ensuring every Kansas child receives a quality education; protecting Kansas families and communities; improving access to quality, affordable health care; and taking advantage of the state's renewable energy assets.
Through a commitment to making the state's business climate more attractive - and by balancing the state budget without raising taxes - the Kansas economy has rebounded resulting in low unemployment and the creation of thousands of new jobs.
I'm still working on McCain's pick. The picture is hazy at best on the Republican side. The only thing I can say with certainty at this point is that the pick will not be Jeb Bush.
Stay tuned....
