Miss Innisfil**, Ontario, Canada: You are not alone with your Tim Horton coffee

Yes, like your many AV friends outside Canada and all-over the world, I particularly feel your downed feelings of being the lone Canadian thinking about the well-being of your adapted home country and countrymen.
At a great distance:
1. I see you sitting in one corner engrossedly thinking what to do for your country.
2. I see many of your countrymen busy themselves in best lifestyles, recreations and pastimes.
3. They do not bother to ask about things that bother you.
4. They do not mind you at all about the things you are busy with.
5. All they knew about are, your Tim Norton coffee and you.
6. No talk, no conversation with you, they go on their ways here and there with the easy and comfortable life Canada provides to its citizens.
7. But they do not know things happening and taking place in Canada.
8. I knew you have joined causes and foras where you articulated the necessity of safeguarding, protecting and preserving the wealth of your country.
9. But, do your countrymen of all ages bother to read, understand and internalize the messages and lessons of your voluminous pieces at Allvoices, huffington, iWitness and many, many more?
10. They do not read you so they cannot join and assist you to save Canada from all forms of destruction.
Yes, Miss Innisfil, you are not alone:
1. Last July 09, 2011, I stumbled upon in the net, an invitation to join a petition
against “The Super Quarry Project”. I responded and wrote:

LIBERAL MINISTER LINDA JEFFREY, ONTARIO’S MINISTER OF NATURAL RESOURCES: PLEASE HELP US STOP THE SUPER QUARRY – CANADA NEEDS YOU URGENTLY!
Olongapo City, Philippines
HER EXCELLENCY LINDA JEFFREY
MINISTER OF NATURAL RESOURCES
Dear Madam Minister Linda Jeffrey,
I am not a Canadian but, I feel what the Canadians feel about the “Super Quarry” about to break ground pending approval from your office as proposed by US Highland Companies.
Madam Minister Linda Jeffrey I know that, you are already aware by this time about the anxieties, apprehensions and fears of your countrymen especially Canadians who live within the vicinity of the proposed quarry area the moment you sign the papers to allow said US companies to mine therein the wealth of your country. The Canadians in that area have all sorts of fears and said, “An American hedge fund is about to break ground on a massive mining project that could poison a million people's drinking water and the headwaters for five major rivers, would create an open pit deeper than Niagara Falls and decimate thousands of acres of lush farmland…” They said further that, “For years, Highland Companies deceived residents, posing as a potato farming company and quietly buying up thousands of acres of land from local farmers. Then, it was suddenly revealed that the massive plot of farmland would be converted into a limestone quarry -- a 2300 acre pit so deep it would seriously interfere with the ground water system in the region. But, in order to start digging, Highland must win approval from Minister of Natural Resources Linda Jeffrey”.
Madam Minister Linda Jeffrey, multitudes of your countrymen have spoken and voiced out their sincere sentiments against “your approval of said mining project” and they are following you on this matter hence, “Jeffrey is taking 4 more days to consider public opinion on this quarry before making her decision. We can deliver an overwhelming wave of opposition to Highland's destructive plan”.
Madam Minister Linda Jeffrey, your primary reason in consideration of your approval on the quarry project is very clear which is “to generate more revenues for Ontario in particular and Canada in general but, the suppose revenues from this destructive plan could be obtained from other sources as long as your environment will not be prostituted and finally destroyed”. Your countrymen opposing the proposed mining said, “Highland's mega-quarry is smack dab in the middle of farmland the whole country depends on for food production. If built, it could poison clean ground water that feeds the lakes and rivers many Canadians use for drinking water. The quarry would require over seven thousand trucks to transport limestone each and every day, upping carbon emissions and requiring new roads to handle the exploding traffic -- further destroying the natural habitat of hundreds of species of animals. The city-sized pit would scar the land long after the mining was finished”.
Madam Minister Linda Jeffrey, your countrymen are restless and very much concerned about the adverse effects the enterprise will entail to your people and they said more, “But, residents and environmental activists are working hard to oppose the quarry's license -- even the Environment Minister has called for further assessments. Ontario's Liberal government faces a tough re-election fight in October and Liberal Minister Linda Jeffrey is concerned about public.
I inquired about the progress of the petition and wrote at Allvoices:
THE SUPER QUARRY – CANADA (UPDATE)
Olongapo City, Philippines
The Super Quarry –Canada, a project proposed by US Highland Companies to mine limestone from a 2300 acre pit which was strongly and severely opposed by the Canadians which was for approval in July, 2011 by the Minister of Natural Resources Linda Jeffrey however, it was withheld.
In response to my query “Any update about your Minister of Environment? Michelle Devlin, a fellow contributor writer at Allvoices said, “And yes our petition worked! The Minister of Environment here in Canada sent the quarry people away to get more evidence for her to prove that it won't be dangerous to our environment - so at least for now we have a reprieve! Thanks so much for caring!
This writer was able to get hold of the call for a worldwide petition against the mining proposal and penned a letter addressed to Minister Linda Jeffrey of the Ministry of Natural Resources posted at Allvoices on July 09, 2011. It is really very fulfilling to be able to participate in a forum especially when solicited and Allvoices makes such participation possible. MICHELLE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SHORT NOTE.
Miss Innisfil, there are many more but, limiting only to these for the time being. These suffice to support “you are not alone”. Go on with your Tim Horton coffee!!!!
