A dedicated group of 100 girl guides of Dargaville, New Zealand North Island are working day and night to create a unique chain – a chain of bras. (don’t miss the video).
Their target is to join 170,000 bras by the hooks and create a 170-Km long bra chain – their noble mission is to create an awareness of breast cancer.
If successful it would overtake the previous world record of bra chain made of 166,625 bras in Australia in 2009 to raise funds for a nurse of Bundaberg who had been suffering from breast cancer.
The event is organized by Robyn Martinovich, the Girl Guide leader of Dargaville in association with the Breast Cancer Foundation to raise awareness about breast cancer. The bras have come from not only New Zealand but from neighboring Australia apart from England and the USA.
The items had been collected over the past two years and had been stored in the shed of a local dairy farmer.
