Unofficially Yours is a film that delivers. The film brings a fun way at looking at love, loss and heartbreak. It delivers as a Filipino romantic-comedy with predictable twists.
The film’s story may not be original but it still makes us want to watch it until the end. It is fun, funny, dramatic and it relates to a lot of people.
Angel Locsin andstar in this film of one night stands and heart breaks. The two are good actors on their own. But when joined together, they bring a unique chemistry that works very well. Each emotional, romantic and funny scene, Angel and John Lloyd makes us feel what they are feeling and going through.
The rest of the cast also delivers the right touch character to the film. From friends to mothers, this film is filled with lively and colorful artists. Each actor has his or her own persona which really brings his/her up against the rest. So when a scene comes out, each actor holds their own and it works for the film.
The main concept about the film is the revolving question on whether you can stay in a “no commitment” relationship and not want more. Unofficially Yours tackles these matters and more. It shows some aspects in each of our lives that some if not all of us go through each day. Fear of love, fear of getting hurt, fear of getting hurt again and a whole lot of hurt and pain is the other side of the love story of Unofficially Yours.
Even though it is predictable, you still want to see it. Even though some of the lines are cheesy, you won’t care because this film was made to be liked and watched. There are scenes in this film which will be stuck with you for a while and will become the topic of many conversations. It is just how it is. Unofficially Yours is so far the best romantic film of 2012.
Unofficially Yours is not an original movie but it is worth the watch. It is lively, fun, shocking, cheesy as hell and romantic. It may have flaws but they are overshadowed by all the goodness put together by the film makers. I give it 7.5 out of 10.
